About Our Church
Bylaws
The Bylaws are the fundamental governance document for the operation of the Church. Because of their importance they are adopted by and can only be amended by two-thirds of the Voting Members present and voting at a duly called Congregational Meeting. The church conducted a comprehensive evaluation of its governance structure over a two-year period, leading to a revised set of Bylaws, that were adopted by the Congregation in October 2021.
Policies
Policies are statements of direction, intention and limitation for the Board, Staff, and Congregation to use as they engage in governance and conduct the work of the Church. They are developed under direction of the Board of Trustees by the Standing Committee on Governance, with extensive input and review by stakeholders, staff, and members of the Congregation. They are then approved by the Board and compiled into the current version of the Policy Book. Sections and subsections are developed, reviewed, approved, and updated independently, with the most recent revisions indicated in italics below the subsection titles. Several sections of the Policy Book are still under development and will be added once they are completed.
Procedures and Operations Handbooks
Procedures and handbooks are instructions or reference guides governing specific “how-to-steps” of Church work. They are developed, approved, and updated by applicable and responsible councils and committees. Most of these documents are currently being developed or updated and will be added to this site once they are completed.
