Dear Neighbors,

Your neighbors at First Universalist Church are pleased to share that we have received our four-year permit to operate the Safe Parking Program until December 31st, 2027.

We want to thank you for the cooperation and support you have shown for the program and would like to ask for your ongoing collaboration going forward. The Good Neighbor Committee has been a positive influence as the program has evolved. We have grown and learned what works and what needs adjustment.

While a Good Neighbor Agreement is not required under the permit, we want to have good two-way communication with our neighbors. Consistent with that, we are sharing the operational procedures and covenants we will be following, which are
accessible via both this link and the button below. We have made several revisions to these documents in response
to issues that some of you raised and we appreciate that input.

The Church will communicate with you at least quarterly regarding the status of the program, the participants, data about the impact of the program and other relevant issues. We are also adding a section to our Website with regular updates regarding the SPP. There will be a link provided so that neighbors can ask questions, make comments and seek contact with leaders.

We appreciate your support for this program. It is designed to enable unhoused people facing hard times to use their vehicles in our parking lot as a safe place while they seek more permanent housing. We are asking all of them to respect the neighborhood around us and we would ask that all of you treat them with dignity and respect. Together we are making a difference in these people’s lives.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at spp@firstuniversalist.org or (719) 399-1715.

Thank you!
