To ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our children, volunteers must meet a few important criteria:

Background Check: All volunteers must complete a background check.
Placement Meeting: A brief (15-minute) conversation with DRE Naomi Blackwood, REA Letitia Henderson, or a member of the FFRE Committee to ensure your volunteer role is the right fit.

Signed Covenant: Volunteers sign a covenant agreeing to follow our program’s policies and procedures.

There are so many ways that you can help by volunteering for FFRE, including but not limited to: 

• Being helping hands in a classroom on a Sunday morning.
• Becoming part of our teaching staff two Sundays a month.
• Helping to prepare our classrooms before and after service.
• Joining our FFRE Committee to help make decisions for our programs, help with social events and curriculum updates.
• Donating items to social events such as food, drinks or snacks.
• Helping chaperone our children/youth when we travel to other places of faith, social events, or activities.
• Helping to support our efforts in finding opportunities for families, and youth for social action or art projects.
• Help start a small group for our families.
• Becoming an OWL Facilitator for our sexual education classes
• Becoming a Teacher or Mentor for our Coming of Age program that helps to explore our youths spiritual faith.
